Any Jeepers on PEI?

Re: Any Jeepers on PEI?
Where on the Island are you?
I've been visiting Seaview every summer for the last 35 years. We bought our shorefront cottage a number of years back from my wife's grandparents, but had to sell it last year. Good thing is we sold it to my wife's sister, so it's still in the family and we'll still be heading down pretty well when ever we want. We will be there late July early August 2009.
This will be our first visit with a Jeep, and I know it's gonna be a long haul from Montreal with the old 98 2.5 four banger on all those long uphill climbs in NB. We usually do the trip in 13 hours, one day solid, but that's at normal velocity in your standard SUV. This time we'll be in two cars, with me trailing way behind in the Jeep. We're planning a 2 day drive this time and I'm expecting to pull into some hotel in Woodstock NB or thereabouts just about as the wife and kids are getting out of the pool and asking what took me so long;-).
I would love to do some wheeling there, but man, it's almost all red clay mud and big fields everywhere you look. Let me know what you find and hook me up bro. I'd hate to end up driving through some guys private potato patch and having the mounties hunt me down.
And now that you mention it, and maybe it's just because I didn't have a Jeep before, but I don't really remember seeing a lot of them on the Island. Kind of odd, 'cause with all that great mud......and shore.....you'd think there would be more of them bouncing around.
I just can't wait to get there.
Cheers.

Hi,
I'm in the Charlottetown area. Sounds like your planning a good trip. When it gets close to the time your coming down just email me at “g1woodhouse@yahoo.ca” and I'll give you my PH# and you can call when your here. I'm sure we can get together for a little offroading.
Thanks for the reply Gary

Re: Any Jeepers on PEI?
So you must know Seaview. Not far at all from your neck of the woods. It's almost handy.
Unless something radical happens to change our plans, I'll touch base before we head on down.
I'm reachable at alexfamira@yahoo.ca.
And it's always a good trip heading down. It's coming back that's the bummer.
Have a great winter.

Re: Any Jeepers on PEI?
Calling all Islanders that drive jeeps own jeeps like jeeps. You get the point. Here’s a spot to post pictures and meet and greet other jeepers around the Island. Think of it as an unofficial PEI jeep club. Have a look and give me some feedback.www.facebook.com/people/Pei-Jeepers/1572985505 If the link dos not work just go to face book and do a search for PEI JEEPERS

Re: Any Jeepers on PEI?
Hi There TJ06
Sorry but I'm not on the island right now, but drive back there each summer.
The wife's family is there, out near wellington. We will be visiting them and using the cottage on the shore for the next few summers before we move back there.
Like RiponRedTJ, this will be my first summer in PEI with a jeep. (I haven't owned one since 99).
we were planing on driving her car out in the summer and the jeep if we make the trip at Chrismas, BUT, if there are any good roads to wheel on, I might be able to convince her to take the Jeep instead.
Let me know. If I bring it, I'll make sure to let you know.
I can be reached at
robertorme@hotmail.com
Cheers

Re: Any Jeepers on PEI?
Hi Tunes,
There's endless clay roads here. If you would like to get dirty this is the place to be. A little bit of woods. Have a look on Face book in in groups for peijeepers. It's kind of a unofficial jeep club for the Island. Your get a since of whets around here.

Re: Any Jeepers on PEI?
Hi Guys
Very cool thread!
I am in Montreal, but I have a cottage in Seaview (man the world is way to small sometimes)
I have a Mitsubishi Jeep that I imported from Japan, for the express purpose of using it in the summer on the Island!!
The lack of Jeeps is one thing that always struck me as wierd there, such nice little roads to explore.
I have a picture of my jeep before I left with a body shop buddy of mine (who squirted it while I was away on the island, and painted it Lamborghini Yellow.....which I think looks great, and now has no top either) its very different in thats its a long wheel base jeep and sort of set up to seat 9 (really small guys)
when we get down this year,I should be bringing the jeep and would love to hang out or go for a drive.
Looks like crap here, but I never took any pictures of it repainted with newish wheels ect on it.This was it in Japan before I arrived in Canada.
I will checkout your facebook listing as well.
See you guys in the summer
