Oil: Walmart or Cdn Tire?

Oil: Walmart or Cdn Tire?
Howdy! I'm not sure if this is even worth the mention, but I found it a bit perplexing.
Time for an oil/filter change on the old JK Sahara soon, so I'm keeping an eye on the flyers for what might come up soon. One day the Cdn Tire flyer is delivered and lo & behold if they don't have Castrol GTX marked down to $27 and change from $38 and change for the 5L jug. I pick up two and a filter.
A week or so goes by when the Walmart flyer arrives. They've got Quaker State on for $14 and change for a 5L jug. Wow, so I pop down to check it out. As I'm headed down the aisle to the Automotive dept., I practically bump into a pallet load of Castrol in 5L jugs. What's this! and it isn't even advertised. Turns out to be the same as I just bought at Cdn. Tire and not even special enough to include in their flyer - now get this! $10 for a 5L jug.
I think it's high time that I learned how to shop smarter. What do you make of that experience?

Re: Oil: Walmart or Cdn Tire?
Well look around if there is a Cdn Tire store you can be sure wallys going to be close by trying to beat ctc same **** different store.your the customer buy where you get the deal, I buy, filters when there on sale and oil is the same, change it regularly and does it really matter if its Quaker or Castrol or some other brand, not really. Just stick to the weight I use 10/30 all year round, you might use something else.

Buy it where it's cheapest!
Although myself,I use only Amsoil Synthetic oil. when I do an oil change it costs me 112$ for the oil and filter. But I'm good for 12,000 kilometers.

I use Mobil 1 Synthetic in my KJ which takes 5 quarts.
Can Tire only sells the 4.4 liter jugs, which sucks.
Wall Mart sells the 5 liter ....which is what is needed to do the job and still have bit left over.
