Default Thinking of Buying 89 YJ...

Went and saw an 89 YJ. it has 325000KM on it. body and floor are SOLID. frame has been repaired at rear. Can anyone give me some pointers on what to look out for? Any help would be great. I know I'll have some work to do on it...

price is 800... seems like a deal, yes? no?

thanks.

Hey Rye,
Hmmmm....$800 eh? What does she need for a safety? What size engine? (325K on the 4.0L is OK if she was well maintained IMHO). What will you be using her for? (DD or off road?)

Hi Savasa,
its an inline 6. Carborted. Seems well maintained. I'll be using it for some local driving, and some light offroad. Beach driving, maybe the odd field... needs a parking brake cable and a little exhaust work.

If it runs and will pass a safety it is a great deal. Sounds like a good deal even if it needs work.

That price for a roadworthy vehicle is a great price. Even if it needs some work.
