Canada wheel spacers

anybody use the 1 1/4" wheel spacer,and where did you buy it from

My roomate uses them on his '04 Sport, he ordered them from Quadratec, but if you are in Canada National 4wd can get them for you.

Whats the actual deal with spacers. I'm still fairly new to Jeeps, but have been around trucks. I have always been told to stay away from these things, yet it seems that they are accepted in the Jeep world.

I also head to stay away from them, they put excess strain on your wheel bearings. I would go with offset rims and be on the safe side.
