Warn tire carier

Warn tire carier
Hello,
On my TJ I have a Warn bumper and a Warn tire carrier. I must disassemble for painting. The powder coating is not ideal for our winter. I like my tire support, by cons, design latch system is not the best. I'd like to change prior to painting.
In your opinion what is the best latch I could install to replace the Warn.

You'll be lucky to get many responses to this question, as I'm sure most guys don't know what the warn latch looks like, picture might help. I like the one on MrWhites TJ, it's cool and also has a provision for adding a padlock if you choose to.

That looks fairly substantial to me, but I understand what you mean about the rusting problem. Best suggestion I could think of would be to install a grease fitting so that you could keep it lubricated. If you don't have a grease fitting on the pin it swings on I would install one there at the same time.
