Hi all new to the forum and a new 2003 jeep owner for first time . I am putting a 4 inch lift on jeep and I want 33/12.5/15 tire and wheels I don't want them to stick out past stock fender flairs to far so am not sure what size 15 wheel I need to get . I have been told a 9 or a 8 also do the wheels need a off set. The tire shop is trying to sell me 33 / 10 /15 they say a better ride but I like the looks of the 12.5 better could someone help me out thank you

 

First welcome aboard, I see your not far from Nanaimo I remember quite a few years ago visiting my brother he took us to their
bathtub races, funny and fun what a great day that was. To your tires I also have an 03 TJ sport model running 33x12.5R15 with
8" off set steel rims (offset "YES") some use spacers but I don't like them so go for offset rims with 33's I would suggest 8 or 8.5
mine don't stick out passed my fenders, BUT I do have 7" flares which I bot though 4wp many years ago. If I were to buy new rims
I would go for 8.5 offset STEEL. I would not buy chrome or mags unless its for show (if you do make sure you tork them up regularly
as they have a tendency to loosen. Buy STEEL rims. Steel if it gets dented you can probably bank it back in shape. With any
new rims CHECK the lugs regularly
Bottom line: Yes 12.5 tires with 8.5 or even 8 offset rims the tires will be beyond your stock flares
If you buy 10.5 tires with 8 offset rims you'll be okay

Thanks Mr white how do you like how the jeep handles with the 33,12.5,15 my tire shop I deal with are trying to talk me in to 33,10,15 but I real like the looks of the 12.5 . Am not doing any hard core 4x4 ing just logging roads to some lakes and hike out in the back country

 

Nice looking Jeep, not full of rust like they kill the roads here in winter with salt. still get it undercoated
and make sure they spray in the frame holes..Do NOT let them drill any holes as for a TJ its NOT necessary.
You might need a "Slip-yoke" eliminator I did not. Depends on weather u have a death wobble after your lift.
Unless yu have a garage and hoist I'd suggest where you buy your lift kit you have them install it this way something
isn't correct you can go back to them. I and a friend did my lying on our backs mostly in his drive way. Shop around
for the kit. Once you put larger tires on your speedometer is going to be off (I cannot remember if its slower than
the reading or faster) I think I still have the part number will ck and put it on here. You can change it yourself very
easily.

I wish but no under my icon is my location I am outside of Montreal.
Looks real nice, I don't know of whom does it in your area, but you
can do a google search for under coaters, They use a vaseline type
liquid that when sprayed on it rusn into the cracks and joints of the metal
best to be done in late fall (not in winter) and the under carriage should
be dry. I have a local gas stn that does it. Shop around
Take a look at the photo's in my profile of what my jeep looked like
before I had all the rust repaired thanks to 4WP for doing the nice job
