Skyjacker shocks and ss

Skyjacker shocks and ss
I'm about to purchase a set of Skyjacker Hydro (2") because a) my pre-runners are getting old, b) the rear shock keeps getting loose
Concerning the b) rear shock getting loose, is there something I can buy or do that will reinforce it or is this just one of the things that happens when it's time to change shocks?
I installed the pre-runners myself (with some help - dad and hubby) and I will be doing so again so I was just making sure I didn't need extra hardware, etc...
What about the SS? Still got the stock one. Never changed one of those... is that fairly easy?
Thanks for the help!

Re: Skyjacker shocks and ss
I would make sure the shock is toast. I am cheap.
I would examine the shock and if there is no physical damage or leakage. If all is good, I would head to the auto parts store and get a shock bushing replacement kit from energy suspension and replace the sleeve and bushing and keep running the shocks for $15 instead of replacing them.
My thoughts...

Thanks for replying Jet.
Hmmmm... Never thought I could buy replacement bushings. Tho I don't mind changing the shock did is something I'll keep in mind.
I just want to make sure that the bottom bolt (what keeps getting loose) won't come loose a month into my new shocks.

maybe try using loc tite on the bottom bolts. i have never had the bottom bolts come loose just the small bolts that hold the bar pin i used loc tite on them and they dont seem to come loose any more

Re: Skyjacker shocks and ss
Or you can get a couple of "stover nuts" they are also sometimes called "cinch nuts", they are kinda like a Nylon lock nut but a whole lot better, we use them in the heavy duty industry quite extensively when we need a nut to stay tight without having to use loctite or a very unreliable lock washer. This would be ultimately cheaper than any other option already listed, even cheaper than a bottle of loctite.
