looking at a lift got a few questions
i am looking at putting a lift in my 2005 tj unlimited, i am new to this some of the kits i looked at have transfer case lowering components, do i have to lower my transfer case to lift my jeep 2 inches, dose this cause extra stress on the drive line ( ie u joints, drive shaft ect)?

Re: looking at a lift got a few questions
If you're only doing two inches you might bet away without it, but the driveshaft on a tj is so short and uses a slip yoke at the front end, so any kind of lift puts the slip yoke at a greater angle. In my opinion, if you're doing a lift, lower the t/case,

I never had any problems with my 03 TJ sport. It has a Procmp 2`` lift and no t/case mod

Re: looking at a lift got a few questions
It's very important to maintain driveline angles when lifting a vehicle. If the angles get too far out of spec it may work fine...for awhile, but will cause the joints to wear faster. You may be ok only going 2 inches, but like oldfart said, if you're doing a lift, drop the T-case... It's cheaper than repairing any part of your drivetrain.
