Help - Tranny and Differential Fluid Change
Hey guys,
I need help with what fluid to use for my transmission and front and rear differential fluid change. What fluids are best to use?
From what I've read GL 5 rated fluids eat away at the brass synchros in the tranny. I've been reading about Red Line 75w90 GL3 grade fluid and this stuff is supposed to be the best and won't eat away at the brass synchros.
I just can't find this stuff anywhere in Ottawa. I finally found a shop that sells Red line but its GL5 grade...
This is getting frustrating. Can anyone help me?
Thanks

Godman,
Nothing in your profile telling what your Jeep is. Have you tried a dealership? I went to Car Canada near Manotick to get TC fluid for Muriel. Call dealership first. Sorry Godman, wasn't much in my profile either-I've added a bit.

Sorry,
2000 Jeep TJ 2.5L.
I don't really like getting this stuff done at a delearship because they tend to charge you an arm and a nut for stuff you can easily do yourself.

Godman,
NOT suggesting you get the job done by dealership but you should be able to get the proper fluids there without running all around town trying to save some bucks on supplies if one dealership has everything you're going to need.
