Canada Another newbie TJ Owner

Just bought a 2005 TJ Sport last week. I just noticed that I'm having a bit of trouble shifting from 1st to 2nd. I didn't notice it during the test drive. I'm pretty sure it's not the clutch because all other gears shift very smoothly but going into 2nd is hard at times. It feels like the syncro rings are lining up very well or something. It's smoother if I don't rev the rpms past 2000 in 1st before I shift. Is this something to be concerned about? I have 5 months left on power train warranty.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Mine has been a little clunky with shifting as well, I am not overly happy with that, but I am thinking of changing out the tranny oil with the liquid gold Mopar stuff soon and seeing if that helps at all.

If it is still under warranty why not get it checked? At least it will document it that you were having issues in case it gets worse. My son in law had the same problem on a sunbird he changed over to synthetic fluid and problem was solved.Good Luck

Hey there,
My 2001 TJ was badf for that after I put Valvoline fluid in, I went back to the correct Mopar fluid and it improved dramatically. it still clunks a little but again "It's a Jeep thing". No worries!
