ZJ - engine options

Over the last several years, a number of engine options have been
available on the ZJ (Grand Cherokee), including the venerable straight
4.0 six and several V8s.
I am considering getting a ZJ. Which one of the ZJ engine alternatives
are likely to be the most reliable, in terms of durability, repair
frequency and cost? I am interested in the engine that would give me
the lowest overall operating cost over the lifetime of the vehicle.
Best regards,
Njord

Cost? Get a six, but if you want to blow the doors off a Mustang,
get the V8: http://www.----------.com/temp/cherokeeDrag.htm Reliability
is not a problem.

Re: ZJ - engine options
That's right, Bill - power is not very important to me, the six will
give me plenty enough -- just reliability and associated repair costs
(gasoline cost is not that important, either).

Re: ZJ - engine options
Well the last year you could get the 4.0L was 2004, you have to get the V-6
or V-8. If you just want to get from point A to point B the V-6 is a good
engine and has the best GPM.
