Do they work?... Sure, they protect the 3-4" strip of the hood behind them.

Mine had one when I bought it. Didn't work worth crap and I ended up
tearing it off.

clean aerodynamics, though they do screw up that carefully engineered
airflow pattern over the top and sides of the vehicle. When your rig
has the aerodyanamic properties of a cement block, you can't expect an
itty bitty piece of plastic to have much effect besides protecting the
leading edge of the hood from stone chips.
Unless you just like the look, don't bother.
