I know you ran a CA service station back then, but everywhere else it
was 1974 for unleaded fuel and cats. What about the non hardened valving
in the heads in the sixties and early seventies?

If you still had the trap door on your filler pipe, you'd see the
hole size limited it to the smaller unleaded neck. We still sold leaded
regular and supreme until about ten years ago.

Smells best if you use the fryer oil from a clean and often changed
local fast food place.

elsewhere, and went nationwide in 1971 with the massive drop in
compression [even without unleaded]. Easy way to remember is that
in 1970 you could drive a 370hp LT1 Camaro off the dealer lot and
hit over 140 mph with quarters in the low teens. In 1971 you were
lucky to drive it off the lot.
