used Grand Jeep Cherokee Limited advice needed.
A friend of the neighbors wants to sell me
his 94 Limited GJC for 8000$. Considering
the vehicle has 300,000km on it, even though
8k is totally out of the Question; what's a fair price
for it? Do these models have any defects? Any problems
I should expect?
thx

Go to www.edmunds.com and plug in what you know about the vehicle.
Looks like it would be worth around $6,000 on a private sale. Depends
on color, options, etc. My main concern would be the A/C evaporator.
Ask him if it was replaced under warranty.

What engine, transfer case?
300,000km =~ 186,411mi
Value at that milage depends on how well it was taken care of
and if there were regular oil changes.

When I had mine replaced in 1995 (under warranty) I think they told me
the cost would have been a little over $900 U.S. You could apply 8
years of inflation to that. It's a major operation. Basically, the
entire dash has to come out.
