tactical to practical
the history channel has a new show "tactical to practical" which is about
technology that serves the military being used in civilian roles. on the
pilot episode they had a segment on the hmmwv where they promoted it as
being a great military tool that is also valuable in the civilian world as a
hummer. the best they could come up with for civilian usage involved 3 or 4
hummers off roading up really steep grades.
im made a post about this on the history channel message board, you can
follow the thread (if any develops) here. http://tinyurl.com/ruo5

Re: tactical to practical
I saw that. It was pretty funny. These "ultimate" vehicles were waving
their paws in the air like a dog trying to hit the top of a really tall fire
hydrant. From what I saw, anywhere they can go, I can go with my TJ, and
probably even with my stock SJ! I can go a bunch of places they can't go
due to my narrower track.
