Re: stock exhaust pipe size
Hi Jason,
It's against the law to cut the catalytic convert out of the
system. ;-) Got something to make a caliber out of:
http://www.----------.com/caliber.jpg Clamp two straight edges together
parallel to transfer the measurement.

thanks bill, thats a good idea....and simple
In Alberta we have pretty lean smog rules, we can run pretty much any setup
hassle free...I have a 2.25" header I'm installing, I was just curious what
the stock stuff was..2"?

Re: stock exhaust pipe size
When I put on a 2" header, I replaced the entire exhaust system with 2"
stuff. I have been told that I lost a small amount of low end torque because
I removed all of the back pressure. I am not sure I can explain why torque
and backpressure are related, but assuming this is true, the only stock
parts in the system should be the tail pipe itself.
Since you are adding a 2.25" header, then I would suggest a 2.25 CAT and
muffler, and go with a 2" tail pipe to choke the system down a little. Scrap
all of the stock crap that you have and put in all new low restriction stuff
made of 304 Stainless Steel, and close the system down with a smaller tail
pipe.
