You're insisting you're right even though I (and hundreds of CJ7 and early YJ owners) have done this, and YOU'VE NEVER DONE IT! Whats more, if you weren't such a bull headed moron you could continue web searching and find more examples of a 4.0 head swap using the 258 carb manifold and either a TBI injection or carb. Like: Webber carb and OEM 258 2bbl on a 4.0 head: http://www.northeastsurf.com/4.0%20head%208.JPG Note: you can tell it's a 4.0 head because the exhaust ports are low on the head Howell Throttle body Injection on OEM 2bbl intake: http://www.bustedjeep.com/projects/rebuild/DCP_0992.JPG Here's someone who did the swap and used an aftermarket Clifford 4bbl intake that is made for carbed 258's http://www.cjoffroad.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4669 Some people had to mod brackets, some had to grind on the 258 intake for header clearance, some had to make the washers bigger for the mounting bolts (I did) and one guy hammered his band new borla stainless steel header to clearance the 258 intake. I ground on the intake to clear the header, because mine no longer needed the coolant jacket due to bypassing the intake coolant passages. Which is also why I have a cherokee thermostat housing (for the TBI's coolant temp sensor) -- Simon "I may be wrong, but I'm not uncertain." -- Robert A. Heinlein |
