where can I find a website with some detailed literature on doing a ring and
pinion change on a Dana 30 and a amc 20 in a 86 cj7. and if not a website
maybe a book. thanks carmine

 

A simple review of the manufacturers repair manual should do the trick. Be
advised, this is a very tricky operation that can, but shouldn't, be done by
the backyard mechanic. Technically it's a piece of cake, however in actual
practice it can be a complete PITA unless you have a lift, hydraulic press,
case ------er, magnetic base & dial indicator, etc., plus a lot of patience.
Set it up wrong and you'll have a pile of scrap in short order, like less
than 500 miles.
