Replacing Cd Changer in 2000 JGC -- Easy ??
I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the Affinity sound system. Over a
period of time, the changer is giving read errors on random cds. I have
cleaned the laser head with the cd disk cleaner, and have run many tests,
making sure that the cds are ok and can be played ok on other players. The
read errors are random, but appear to be getting worse. I can only assume
that I need a new changer.
This is the 10-cd changer that is mounted in the rear of the Jeep. If I
buy a new changer, is it much of a job to install the replacement ? Have
any of you actually done this job and if so, about how long did it take?
Thanks for any help !!

Why not simply try removing it? It should be possible to remove the
connectors, take the changer to a store and find a replacement.

My first sugguestion is to get rid of this piece of junk before it
takes all of your hard earned money, but, if you want to brave it, I
have a bran new 10 disc changer in a box minus the magazine. My dealer
had to order the hole thing just to get the magazine from the thieves
at Mopar-who wouldn't sell just the magazine. It comes with the
instructions, hardware and cable(which you don't need). It is very
simple judging by the instructions. Email me at
cdaigle430nospam@hotmail.com.......remove the nospam to email me.
