I wouldn't recommend a Wrangler for winter driving for the average Joe.
While it will certainly go forward with the best of them in deep snow, the
Wrangler has a habit of leading with the rear end! The short wheelbase,
while great for off-road use, is very touchy in slippery conditions,
especially in 2WD. Virtually any other Jeep would be a safer choice for
winter, but I would lean toward a FWD/AWD setup for safety, such as a
Subaru, RAV, etc. But if you're going to be driving in >12" of snow at low
speeds, the Wrangler would be fine.

I agree. Something with a longer wheelbase would be more appropriate.
