No, you are wrong. Its true that Bush was participating in a Senate
campaign in Alabama, but he was not given permission to make up the
time. He requested a transfer to a unit in Alabama:
http://users.cis.net/coldfeet/doc7.gif
His request was denied:
http://users.cis.net/coldfeet/doc5.gif
He then made a request for a transfer to another unit:
http://users.cis.net/coldfeet/doc2.gif
That request was approved and he was told to report to Lt. Col. William
Turnipseed:
http://users.cis.net/coldfeet/doc11.gif
However, Turnipseed has said that Bush never reported. Bush's attendance
and pay records show no activity for Bush while he was in Alabama other
than attending a dentist exam.
You are also correct that this is old news. Just as it is old news that
Bush had his flying privileges revoked for failing to show up for a
physical. It is also old news that he lied in his autobiography when he
wrote that he flew with his unit for "several years" when he actually
only flew for 22 months. None of this is new, which is why I am
surprised that people like Bill ------ refuse to believe it.
