Re: OT OT: OS options
We do PC tune ups at my store. We did 387 so far this year. The best program
to stop Spyware/Adware is McAfee's Anti-spyware. Cost is $29.99, available
everywhere. Often you'll find an office supply store that has a $30 rebate on
it, which makes it FREE.
AdAware and Spybot are good, but they are freeware and don't have the updates
that a pay program has. Just read their user agreements: "This is dedicated
to my girlfriend, the reason I wrote this program is to protect her."
McAfee's also protects against Keyloggers, Anti-dialers, and other security
threats.

Re: OT OT: OS options
updates for Spybot and Adaware seem pretty regular to me.
If a mechanic works on his girlfriend's Jeep, does that mean he does a bad
job ?

I had Ad Aware for awhile but it didnt't seem to update very often. The PC
World recommeded "Spy Assassin", which was like $20usd, which recently
morphed into something called Adware Filter. Seems to catch virtually all
popups that XP SP2 misses.
