opinion on buying a jeep Please help!!!
I am looking at selling my cj-5 and getting a Grand Cherokee. The ones that
I am looking at are as follows.
1) 99 Loredo (ZJ) with a I-6. 90,000 miles
2) 99 Limited (WJ) with a V-8 and 121,000 miles
Both are $4,900.00 .
I am wondering how expensive it would be to build one of these up. I am
wanting to put 33" tires and lockers all around. I do some aggressive
trails so I need something strong. I am wondering what axles and Trans case
these have and am I going to have to replace them.
My CJ-5 has
lockers front and rear
33" w/beadlocks
D 30 front W/cromolly shafts
D 44 Rear W/cromolly shafts
D 300 transfer case twin sticked
T18 Trans
Steal braided hoses through out.
Thanks in advance
Sean

I would just recommend making sure that what you buy has solid axles
front and rear. If it has that it can be modified as you wish, but
with IFS you will have a lot of problems.

Go with the ZJ as it is simplier in design and sturdier and the
chysler V8 powered one can eat gas like there is a hole in the gas
tank.
