Oil Pressure gauge XJ
My Oil pressure needle sometimes goes all the was clockwise to about 3 o
clock. Then after a few moments it goes back to sixty. Any ideas what is
wrong. The jeep doesn't act different when the pressure supposedly goes up.
Could this be a short?

More likely an open.

Pull the connector, clean the pins and give the it a shot
of WD-40 or contact cleaner. Put a dab of dielectric grease
(spark plug grease) in the boot and reconnect it.

Re: Oil Pressure gauge XJ
Probably just a dirty connection on the oil pressure sender. Disconnect the
plug, clean things up and put it back together again, it'll probably be ok
then. The oil pressure sender is mounted next to the oil filter.
