It a 1986. I didn't know there was a longer filter, I'll check into that,

oil capacity question
The Jeep 258 motor holds 5 quarts or, 6 with filter change. However, there
is no way the tiny Jeep filter holds a full quart -- maybe 1/2, if that.
When I change the oil and filter and add 6 quarts, the oil level is above
the fill mark. So I am thinking of going with 5 1/2 quarts in the
crankcase. Any problems with this, or anybody think its a bad idea?
