Oil in air filter
I have an 84 CJ7 w/ 4.2 litre and I noticed some new oil leaks. When I
looked for them I realized that there was oil coming into the air filter
through the hose attached to the rear of the valve cover. There was so much
oil that it was being sucked into the carb and seriously fouling the plugs.
Besides a rebuild, and driving without oil, what could I do to stop this?
Thanks

Mike,
I think maybe you mean PCV valve?

Re: Oil in air filter
Hi Rob,
I would convert to the regular PCV valve and do away with solenoid
controled orifice. I couldn't find the recall, but I'm sure there was,
because the system didn't work. Anyway, you should be able to find a
pipe fitting to fit the manifold, and tape the electrical connection.
Also make sure the valve cover is free, sometimes the baffles carbon up.

Re: Oil in air filter
You have a CCV system. It plugs up easy too.
There is a small plastic tube and a rubber grommet that plug up.
Here is a link on the CCV system:
