Re: Noticed on Ebay
So how far can that Pro Stock motor go before it breaks ? (Ignoring that 7.5
gallons per minute fuel consumption on 118 octane gas).
Since we are being a bit silly comparing a racing car engine to a road
engine, I'll join in.
1700 hp for 830 ci per your link is 2hp per ci ; the 181 ci Formula 1
engines are putting out 800hp from their OHC engine ; pro rata that would
make it
3600 hp for an engine that can run for 2 hours.

Re: Noticed on Ebay
Hi Dave,
Well we can build an engine for anything we want it to do. A nice
pushrod engine for the street:
http://www.----------.com/temp/429FordBossPushrod.jpg Probably last like
any other Ford engine, three, four hundred thousand miles. Now day's
compare the ZO6 pushrod LS7 Corvette at sixty thousand bucks with
anything.

This is your problem Bill; you seem to think that because you can find
some nich where older technology is still in use, that the older
technology is inherently better than the newer. C channel fram rails,
Diesel, leaf springs, and now you're touting PUSH RODS?!? LOL...

Re: Noticed on Ebay
I'm with Bill on C channel frame rails - I know they have to be heavy to get
proper stiffness but they don't rust out so badly as box section.
