Locking gas cap broken
Gi'day all
How does the gas cap come off if the locking
mechanism is broken?
I can insert the key and turn but when turning the cap
to remove it it wont come off. Luckily I'm still
under warranty but if this happen again it would
be nice to know how to remove it.
Thanks in Advance
Cheers

Re: Locking gas cap broken
Get it fixed and then look to see if they had to put a new gas tank or
filler neck in if it comes apart.
I can't see any other way to get it off if the key mechanism won't do
it.

Re: Locking gas cap broken
This reminds me of something that recently happened to my ex-boss. He runs a
business w/a large delivery truck (it's a double axle truck w/dual tires on
the back). Anyway, he came back after a weekend and discovered the truck
wouldn't start because it was out of gas. The truck had a locking gas cap
too. When they looked under the truck they found the gas lines had been cut
and all the fuel drained out of the tank. This was in Sylmar, CA.

The truck probably had $150 worth of fuel in it...
