Actually, I have no idea
If there arn't any bolts holding
the assembly on then your probably
going to have to remove the rear plastic.

Re: LIBERTY REAR BULB REPLACEMENT
If it's anything like an XJ... you open the hatch, remove three bolts
holding the taillight, tap it upwards and off it comes. You can access the
wiring/bulbs from there. No access from an inside panel.

I believe this would be covered in the owner's manual...

Believe me it is not in the manual, I was surprised that it wasn't. It does
say that if you need the bulb replace to take it to a dealer. What is
next????lol I took out the 2 star screws but there is still something
holding back the whole unit. It's almost like there is a magic button to
release it.
