Good Shocks for 2000 JGC ?????

Good Shocks for 2000 JGC ?????
I am trying to find a good set of shocks for the above Jeep. I tried
Dousetech (spelling), but they sent me the wrong set for my Jeep, and will
not respond to my dealer's efforts to replace them.
I have heard of Gabriel Ultra shocks. Has anyone used these on a Grand
Cherokee?
I don't care for a "hard" ride, and only occasionally go off road.
However, I do drive on bumpy mountain roads. I prefer a fairly smooth ride
rather than the harder ride and feel.
At one time, I thought I read that all gas-charged shocks create a fairly
hard ride, but I am not sure that is true.
Another choice I suppose is Monroe, but I would really like to get
recommendations before I just have a set of any shock brand installed on
this Jeep.
I will appreciate any good input !!!

Monroe's jeep/truck division is Rancho. They have self adjusting
and cab-adjustable shocks. I have the Rancho 9000RSX adjustables
which I happen to like, but then I prefer a rather stiff ride. A
friend has a GC with the Edelbrock IAS shocks which are much more
to the liking of most drivers. Not that stiff, but extremely good
control.
