Firewall brace for Master Clutch Cylinder area
Our 83-84 Jeep Pioneer had the firewall crack around the clutch master
cylinder are and now needs to be repaired. I have been looking to see
if there are any commercially available braces to repair this or is it
pretty much a "custom" job that has to be done?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated as we need to get this
repaired.

Re: Firewall brace for Master Clutch Cylinder area
I would guess home made would be only option. I would say you need a new
strut that braces between the master cylinder/firewall, and steering column,
also. A plate of steel to brace against a larger area of the firewall will
give you problems in spacing for the next guy. Here's hoping you find one in
the bone yard, as the firewall was changed on the later models for the
straight six.
