electrical problem 95 yj
i have the following problem with my '95 yj, 4cyl, 5 speed: courtesy
lights under dash don't work, radio looses memory when i shut off the
engine... i checked the bulbs and they are ok as well as all the
connections to the radio...i checked the acc fuse and its fine,
however, no power to the fuse on either side of the block regardless
of the position of the ignition switch... so i was wondering if anyone
else had this problem and what the likely fix is...is there another
fuse that protects the power on the inbound side of the under dash
fuse...?
anyhow i wouold appreciate any help i could get...
j
thanks

Re: electrical problem 95 yj
I had a similar problem with my '94 yj - no dash lights though. turned out
to be a poor connection on the back of the fuse block...

Re: electrical problem 95 yj
The accessories are ignition switched so they make a loop back to
the fuse block, your courtesy light comes from the fuse block, and
before that from the Power Distribution Box with a removable cover next
to the battery that makes many other connections to the fuse block and
computer. I would just disconnect the battery, and pull the fuse block
as Doug, suggested, looking for the bad connection's telltale sign of
corrosion.
