Desert Steel Fiberglass Body
I finally found the marking tags for the fiberglass body on my CJ7. There
are two Desert Steel tags that were painted over, one on the inside of each
front quarter panel. Part of their logo includes a cactus. I think they
are located on the Arizona/California border, based on an internet search.
I tried to find an email address or phone number on the internet to no
avail. For the regulars around here, you may remember a post of mine about
the radio not fitting in the dash due to the hood vent drain being in the
way.
BTW, the 360 block is at the cleaners, all of the engine parts are laying
around the garage neatly sorted and labeled, and I'm preparing the engine
compartment for a newly rebuilt engine. The suspension is finished, the
stainless brake lines are on, the frame is repaired and painted.
