Comparing new bestop "half top" to original bikini+back window and Iron Horse's cab top
The first "bikini" top I had on my jeep was bestop's bikini top + the
back window + tonnue cover. I liked the fit, the material, and the
ease of installing (especially after later having to install the iron
horse one). Problem was it wasn't rain proof. Gaping holes in
coverage, around the windows and the back part / top of the roll bar
meant it got wet inside whenever it rained.
The one I have now is Rock crusher/iron horse's cabtop. It seals the
front passenger compartment well enough, but the workmanship is just
shody. The fit/tailoring is just bad, the window material
scrathed/staind way to easily, and its a pain to put on and remove.
Regardless, it was more weather proof than the original bestop one,
and being that it's my only top, I've kept it for about 2-3years now.
Now, I've being seeing Besttop's new "half top" in advertisements and
seems like something I'd like. Specially the fact that the top
overhead can be removed without taking the whole thing out. Thing is,
it says it's not 100% water proof, and I just wanted to know if
anybody here, using it for a while now, has any opinions/info on it,
specially about coverage, gaps, and ease of use.
Thanks
