CJ parking brake warning light
My 83 CJ8 Owner's Manual claims the brake warning light should go on when
the parking brake is engaged and the key is on.
I've checked the wiring diagram in the service manual it looks like there's
a wire from that warning light to the parking brake mechanism.
I found a loose wire near the mechanism which may be that wire, but I
haven't traced it yet.
But I find no evidence of a switch on the parking brake mechanism to plug
the wire into.
Does anyone have any info about the switch that's supposed to be on the
parking brake mechanism?
thanks

Aha, I see something spring loaded back there, I'll mess with it and see if
it works.
thanks

Re: CJ parking brake warning light
So here's what it was:
1. Wire was disconnected from the switch at the parking brake mechanism.
2. AND switch on brake mechanism bent and jammed
3. AND once I fixed that, switch was corroded so it wouldn't make contact,
4. AND, as if that wasn't enough, the bulb in the instrument cluster was
burned out.
Anyway, it's nice to have it working now...
