Re: 258 with t150 to 258 with ford T18 conversion
I run 258, bellhousing for a T-150, with a Ford T-19 behind it. I had
the same problem with the clutch disk dragging and discovered that the
pressure plate for a "clutch for a 79 CJ with T150", which uses a disk
for a 10-spine 1 1/16" input shaft, which matches the T-19, has a
slightly different deck height than the pressure plate for later model
Cjs which use a disk for a 10-spline 1 1/8" input shaft. Mixed the
"79" disk with the later model pressure plate and problem solved.
(Drove Advance Adapters and Novak crazy while we were all trying to
figure this out, ironic because the T18/19 conversion is so popular and
one would think both companies would have encountered this before.)

PS - the pressure plate you need (82-86 CJ with T5) and the disk (79 CJ
with T150) should be available at any auto parts store. Problem is
that the pressure plate and disk are usually not packaged separately.
Our solution was to buy two clutches, mix the parts, then return one as
"improperly packaged." However, before this turns into a discussion of
ethics, this idea was suggested by my parts store, done with its
approval, and only after the store checked with its supplier to be sure
it would accept the return.

Hi Robert,
Thanks for sharing the info, sounds exactly like what is needed:
http://www.jeep-l.net/billsr.htm It reminds me of my Ford Factory
Experimental days, the 406" and T-10 combination used four different
clutches (stock) and we couldn't mix any. I still use the thin disk with
it's special pressure plate and throwout, in my '57 T-Bird:
