1999 jeep cheokee sport air conditioner.
Posted the other day about subject above. Took jeep in fo a simple a/c
check on july 18th and everything was fine. One week late, no cold air.
Took it to a local dealer today and they tested the system $100.00 and
found out that the evaporator core is leaking inside the dash. It will
cost $ 1000.00 to get it fixed. Two questions? Is that a fair amount to
get it fix and did the simple digonostic
test done on july 18th might have caused the problem, by putting to
much pressure in the system and causing the leak. Thank-you in advance
for any information.

Ask around to see who will do it cheaper and who has a good reputation.
Your local auto parts store is a good place to start. It is unlikely that
the diagnostic "caused" the problem.

Re: 1999 jeep cheokee sport air conditioner.
It would appear that it is a defective part that DC has left in place
with no recall just to scam folks out of a cool grand.
From the number of failures just reported here, it should be a recall
part.
