2006 Liberty ..Firestone Destonation A/T's ? & Liberty MPG
My wife has a 2006 Jeep Liberty 63,000 kms on it. The tires are toast and we are purchasing some new one's. After reading alot of reviews on tires I decided to not go with the OEM wrangler's that came on it. They are not very good in the snow and I didnt like them in wet weather either.
I however read alot of guys going with All Terain tires Firestone Destonation A/T. I need these tires to be good in all weather. Looks like these are great tires for all seasons and last around 50,000 kms.
Just want to get any reviews of guys with these tires in rain and snow. I live in Brampton Ontario .. dont get much snow but enough to 4x4 it atleast a month a year. And my wife will be taking my son to daycare in the snow with these tires, so just want to make sure they are good in all conditions.

Also ... does anyone have ideas of saving a little bit of gas with these cars. I own a 2007 Dodge Charger Daytona with a V8 Hemi and I get better gas mileage then my wife Jeep Liberty.
I plan on changing the air filter and plugs. Getting a transmision and coolant flush done by end of the week. Anything else that would save a little bit on gas ?
Thanks

Tires and Fluids.
Change all of the fluids to synthetics including engine, differential and transfer cases. I change my plugs out every 25,000km or sooner.
Synthetic gear oils flow freely in cold as well as reduce friction for mileage. BUT if you have a Trac-Lok rear diff, you must also add the Chrysler friction modifier, available at dealer.
Re tires: I use GoodYear Wrangler Silent Armor (Kevlar belted) and are great in rain and #1 in snow. (snow flake rated) These are very quiet on road compared to the stock tires, have thick sidewalls. Go up a few lbs in air in the tires and that will help mileage as well.

Re: 2006 Liberty ..Firestone Destonation A/T's ? & Liberty MPG
Thanks alot for the help !! I checked out the Firestones and they are all sold out until Christmas anywhere I call. So I will be checking the Silent armor out tomorrow. The Interco's TRXUS M/T is a little too much for my wifes daily use on dry roads 90% of the time. And I want to make sure these tires last on dry roads. We dont really go offroading .. my wifes father owns a farm and we have to drive through alot of mud and snow and dirt and grass depending on the season to get into the lot. The rest of the time the car is used in city traffic or highway going back and forth to daycare. Something more towards a 75% road 25% all terain .. would do great. I just want to make sure its good in snow and ice and wet weather.
Another one I heard of is the General grabber A/T .. anyone vouch for that tire .. I need to find one that is actually in stock at a store. Most are sold out .. winter is comming and people are grabbing them quick. And the other is the Fuzion XTI .. i think .. I read all these are good in all weathers .. but I like to base my opinion on actual people having owned them.

I switched to Michelin cross terrains and find them good in the snow and ride well on the highway. As for ga mileage, I found a noticeable increas withe Bosch platinums
