03 selec trac swap up to an 07 command trac
hello there. I am new here and am in need of assistance please... I have a 07 liberty with a blown transfer case. It has a command-trac now. I have an 03 liberty with a selec-trac and am wondering if it can be put in the 07 without too much messin around.. Thanks in advance. Is it perhaps a better idea to rebuild the existing transfer case .. I am mechanicly inclined so either option is ok with me.. I just want the least travel of resistance…Thanks again…

I wouldn't get in to swapping T-Cases, since they are close but not the same. Your best bet is to rebuild so you know you're re-installing what your vehicle came equipped with.
Good Luck!

Re: 03 selec trac swap up to an 07 command trac
thanks for that DennyB. i would be fine to swap as I allready have the other transfer case in another parts truck. I am hopeing to spend as little as I can. I understand that the main issue here is wether or not the overall dimmensions as well as the spline count are the same. I understand that the option was available in the 07 models and that the mounting is the same for the 231, 241, as well as the 242 selec trac. Just wondering if it will work or not. I also understand that the chains are the same in all accept for the width. I am told that the chain is the first to stretch when the fluid gets low and that there is a tight margin between the chaiin and case and that it is the chain that streches first giving the noise. Im going to try today and see what happens. thanks for your advise DennyB and wish me luck.. Darryl
