My wrangler came with aggressive tires 255x75 r17,are people still getting winter tires and removing these

 

In some province for example Quebec winter tires are the law from the 15th Dec to Mar something..your tires must have the little snow flake on it or you can run LT tires until 2012 I believe.

 

i saw that ,but so far ontario has not passes that law and the jeep tires look aggresive but they are not soft

 

Without knowing the brand or what they look like is hard to say how they will react to winter. A winter tire they say is better, soft thread (never seen a winter tire that looked like it could do anything-but they apparently work wonders) also one always has to be a little lean on the skinny pedal on greasy roads.

 

Is it a Rubicon with BFG Mud Terrains? These tires will work well in deep snow, but on ice
or packed snow will not offer a whole lot of grip. They have no "siping" and the rubber will
not be flexible at lower temperatures.

 

I have a new rig. Same tires, and dont slip much. The roads are so bad in Calgary right now. So glad We bought the Jeep.
I did a lot of searching on this topic, and I guess it comes down to personal preference. The Blizzacks seem to be the most recommended tire for the wrangler.

 

Mine work awsome. It's close to -20 here, real icy, and have good grip so far.

 

Ok well thats good to hear because a set of spare rims and snows would be costly abd i can see these tires tha tcame with the jeep are not going to last long as they are very aggresive and look like they will wear down running on pavement so instead of snows it might be new tires quicker than normal.

 

You could get some winter tires, and get them installed on the rims you are useing now. I was so close to dropping the cash on 5 Blizzacks. Then I checked the tires on my jeep, and they have a M/S on them, which means mud/snow. If I start to slip, I pop it in 4 hi, and no worries.
I called Kal tire in Calgary, and they do not even have that size of tire in stock. The guy said he could get a set from the States, and it would take a while to get here.

 

dealerships here suggest running them and trying them out,they are aggresive but not soft
