What too expect ?

What too expect ?
Hi GUYS,
I went and looked at a 2007 2door Sahara yesterday for sale at a Kia dealer in Montreal.
Asking $19 895 44 000Kms. It has both tops and a remote starter.
Automatic, A C ,Electric windows.
The interior of the soft top was full of mechanical grease stains. The passenger seat had a rip in it. The rear carpet was musty and wet. And when looking through the front grills you can see lots of surface rust on the under chassis. I only drove it in the parking lot of the dealer because i had forgotten my lisence but it was evident that the jeep needed new brake pads.
This is the first 2007 second hand Jeep I looked at. Is this whats to be expected in this price range ? Given the low mileage I expected the Jeep to be in much better condition.
The under chassis rust was quite surprising for a 4 year old car !

Re: What too expect ?
for 20k I would look into getting a brand new one, but a base model.
You won't have a remote starter or power windows, but at least you'll get seats that are not ripped, clean softtop and a new car...ahem...I mean new Jepp smell vs. the musty smell.

Surprising in there was allot of rust or nothing? I think it is a bit high for a 2007 even with low mileage.. Here's a site www.kijiji.ca type in jeep and montreal and see what you have there. I just found a 2007 for $15m and a 2009 at $17. okay I didn't see the vehicle but check around. If I hear of anything I'll post it to you. Also chk out the section on Jeeps for Sale on this site..sometimes your lucky. Just be careful if you buy out of province as it will have to be check b/4 licensing with the mot... aaaaaa.... also b/4 you buy get the serial nr of the vehicle and go to this website www.rdprm.gouv.qc.ca its in french but if you call them you just might be in lucky as I was to get someone to translate it for you..its cost under $10 for a vin check well worth it..

Re: What too expect ?
I know jeeps have a good resale, but its obvious that jeep was not well looked after. Just think of what you can see thats bad, now think of what you can't see.....thats where the $$$$$ add up quick. Id look for a better deal or if you can get new. Then you don't have to worry about some elese abuse or lack of maitenance. I LOVE my jeep and I take very very good care of it and always will but I tend to take good care of my stuff espcially when you pay $30 + grand for it.
