Newbie needs pricing help.
A local non-Jeep dealership just got a 2010 Rubicon in on trade and I have no idea what it's worth so I figured the members here would have a better idea.
2010 Red Jeep Unlimited Rubicon
automatic
black hard top, no soft top
remote start
upgraded radio
cloth seats, not heated
not a scratch or stonechip anywhere
19,000 KMs
Asking $26,900 CDN
PS, can a soft top be installed on a Rubicon with a hardtop?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Newbie needs pricing help.
Maybe a bit high... But JK's have one of the best resale values of ALL vehicles. I traded my 2011 JKSU when it was a year and a half old with 24000 kms on it for $26000 (it was only 31000 brand new!)
Always a good idea to use Auto trader to find the price range...
You can definitely get a soft top for it. The hardtop comes off easily (8 bolts and an extra hand from a friend for the lift).
I'd recommend looking underneath... Over 80% of all Rubicons are offloaded. If it has been offloaded much the skid plates and frame will show evidence of contact with rocks etc. - not that there's anything wrong with that... It is a Jeep after all. Nice to have an idea of how much abuse the gears and bearings have been through though. Chips out of the tires can sometimes be noticed also.
Good luck!

Like Greg said, Wranglers hold their value pretty well and shopping around will give you a better idea of what it’s worth in the open market.
Now I always suggest the following when I see a question about buying a used vehicle.
You don’t know how or if the previous owner even maintained it so get it looked at by a Chrysler dealer, preferably before you buy, to make sure it’s all within Jeep specs. You can also look in to a Chrysler Certified Per-Owned Vehicle (CPOV) service contact to protect your investment. You can get anywhere from 6 months / 10,000kms to 5/100 coverage.
Also, get the Car-Proof from the used lot, most will offer it. If not, pay to get one, well worth knowing if it had been in accident and you can see a lot of the repair history.
As for the top, you can order one from your local dealer. Just remember that it can’t stay on when the hard top is on.
Here is the link to look up whatever accessories you’d like for that JK when you buy it – which includes all the soft top options available from Mopar.

Hope this help and send us pics when you buy!

A little off topic, but before you order any new accessories, check out Kijiji. You can pick up never installed soft tops, nearly new rims/tires, side rails, step bars etc, for screaming deals compared with ordering new.

i have a 2010 unlimited manual, dual tops with over $6000 in mods on it and (at the time of appraisal) +/-50,000 kms on it... dealer was giving me $26,500 (with the taxes) on trade so the price is about right but shoudl definately be negotiated. You can probably get it for around $25,000. Soft top used or aftermarket between $500 and $900.

Re: Newbie needs pricing help.
I just picked up my 2010 Sahara straight from Chrysler and they wanted $24,900...I came in a $23,500 and we made a deal at $23,900. The Jeep is mint with 33,900 kms and 3 year manufacturers warranty as if brand new.
