Jeep Wrangler Exhaust?

Jeep Wrangler Exhaust?
Anyone have a sport exhaust on your Jeep Wrangler? Or plan to? I'm not sure what kind of exhaust systems are used on off road vehicles, but I do know in alot of motorsports that sport exhausts are used for increased performance, and whatnot. I was just wondering if anyone knew what style or type of exhausts weather it be just headers, or full exhausts or just cat back exhausts.

Re: Jeep Wrangler Exhaust?
MBRP would be one option. Dynomax also makes one for the JK. Would be best to get one that relocates the actual muffler to the side and up into the belly as it protects it better for off road

I have seen a few people that have done that, But is it legal? I thought the exhaust had to clear the rear wheels?

I'm no expert on performance exhausts or what you would need for your JK.
Here is the link to the Mopar performance catalog that gives you every variation of Exhaust Systems you mentioned.

I would suggest you contact the Mopar Direct Connection Tech Line at 1-888-528-HEMI (4364) to discuss what you are wanting to do and obtain installation instructions before you order your new exhaust from your dealer.
Hope that helps!

Re: Jeep Wrangler Exhaust?
I'm running the MBRP offroad exhaust, love it. It relocates the muffler inside the frame rails about midway below the drivers seat with the tailpipe exiting at the rear. After beating the OEM muffler(65 lbs worth) to death I was using a Flowmaster it rotted off. MBRP you can get in stainless steel. Very easy to install, harder getting the old one off which isn't that hard. Highly recommend it.

Re: Jeep Wrangler Exhaust?
Ideally the exhaust should exit within 6in of the body. When it dumps out mid way your open to the officers discretion, it will not pass safety inspection. Relocating the muffler is not a problem.
