Jeep Still Leaks!!!!!

Jeep Still Leaks!!!!!
Well after 3 attempts of repairing the leak; I still have a leaky Jeep. So....up to this point the dealer has been looking around the passenger door; but I have recently noticed the leak comming from the fire wall. It looks like it is leaking some where from the upper right corner. Has anybody else had a similar leak in this area? Also I noticed while inspecting on the outside of the vehicle (right side, underneath the wiper shroud) a piece of plastic covering a hole. It has been painted over. To me, this is a mistake, as the left side has the same hole, but is uncovered. Has anybody else noticed this? Should I remove the plastic, or is it there for a reason. The hole is about 5" in diameter. Could this be a cause for the leak????
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Jeep Still Leaks!!!!!
I just had some warranty work done, and they are waiting on a part from a recall...a piece of foam to thwart leaks that the service guy said was missing??? Dunno maybe have your dealer run the VIN again for recall...its not a mailout recall.....those are usually safety related. I may have a part number, will have a look.....worth a try.

Re: Jeep Still Leaks!!!!!
I just put my soft top on last weekend and today was the test with a big rain storm. Yup, leaked like a boat with a big hole where those two plastic door frame peices meet at the top of the windshied frame. A quick trip to CTC for some thin weatherstripping tape and a quick look at the wifes' Jeep where to put it as hers doesn't leak and problem solved !

Re: Jeep Still Leaks!!!!!
anyway the part from Chrysler was a simple piece of foam, much like weatherstripping (I think someone discovered that already if I remember correctly) about 3 inches long maybe 1/2 inch wide and installed (glued) it on the inside edge of the door, (closest to the dash) where there is no rubber, there is a gap there. who knows why. It wasnt a recall after all, but an "update", which is something the factory discovered may fix a problem. If you never have service you'll never be told....I'll try and get a pic of it to demonstrate....pretty simple....but not sure if it works....yet !! You would think they would just replace the rubber with a full piece. Dunno

Just thought this might help you out. http://www.jeep-club.net/graphics/ma..._Leaks_All.pdf I had this PDF on my computer but didn't know how to link it to the sight so I found the same PDF. Water finds its way into the wrangler in some odd places !!
