????jeep chrysler canada warranty claim denied???
well it all started when i needed a new vehicle and thought a top of the line 2010 jeep wrangler unlimited
Rubicon would be a good idea because i like going light trail riding and not to mention it snows ahlot out here so 4by4 would be a good idea. about 6 months of having the jeep i have had it in the shop at least once a month for a min of three days at a time, leakey roof, std trans slipping out of first gear,rf shock bushing worn.and slave cylinder leaking. but most of the time i haven't had any problems with the warranty until now. i was taking a slow speed left turn in a store parking lot that wasnt plowed at the time when i herd a snap and grind. i was only a few blocks from home so i figure i try to get myself and my jeep home. a few lights come on in the dash stability control and traction control and my steeringwheel was at about nine o clock.i get it towed and wait for the call from the dealer ship. 2 days go byso i call them, they tell me my left front axle had broken at the u-joint/yoke and that the u- joint wasgone/missing and that they had to send in pictures to chrysler Canada. 2 days go buy and i get a callfrom the dealership saying my warranty claim was denied due to physical damage. needless to say i didn'tagree and asked y and got an explanation saying there was evidence of abuse and or off road damage and that the axle could handle the torque load of that vehicle and that he had only seen on other jeep that had come in like that. he suggested if i had any issue i should phone Chrysler Canada customer service.
so i did and they told me they would investigate and get back to me with in 24 to 48 hours. so i get a call the next day from Chrysler Canada telling me that my claim was denied and that this would be the end of it and there was nothing else i could do.i also must add that i haven't done any trail riding a month prior of those pictures. and that theres is NO physical damage to the axle housing and sroundingarea.
so my question is are they right? can they just deny a clam at will with no evidence except of a piece of mud and scraped skid plates?
attached are pictres of the damage taken by the dealer ship and sent to chrysler canada
showing the broken axle, scraped up skid plates and a few pices of mud

Re: ????jeep chrysler canada warranty claim denied???
Sorry to hear of your troubles, but unfortunately the amount of scrubbing on skid plates has just given them an excuse to claim as abuse. That is simply something that we have to deal with if we want to wheel our rigs. Good luck, hope there isn't too much damage.

Re: ????jeep chrysler canada warranty claim denied???
It sounds like one of your c-clips fell off on your axle u-joint.
This is a known jeep weakness.
With giant tires and huge lifts, the dealer sometimes gets away with this denial crap.
But, is your rig stock?
This is outrageous!
Do not give up!
Write Chrysler Canada, Write the Toronto Star.
What stealership was this?
Call out their despicable name so that we can all hate them.

Re: ????jeep chrysler canada warranty claim denied???
my jeep is a 2010 Rubicon with 17000km and stock in every way.
in all reality it's easier to just fix it and forget it, because from what i have read on forums about warranty claims this will be a never ending thread with no result except for me loosing in the end. I'm not going to lie i love my jeep but have lost all confidence in it and it's maker and thought i would try to get my word out, that if u buy a jeep and expect to use it for what i thought it was built and tested for u will have a rude awakening when u ask Chrysler to stand by there product. when i bought a 2010 jeep Rubicon with 31 in mud terrain tires, Dana 44 axle front and rear with front and rear lockers with electric front sway bar disconnect, it never crossed my mind that Gauthier Dodge Chrysler Jeep in Winnipeg Manitoba would deny a warranty claim because my jeep may have been off roaded at some time or another.
i hope i have not offended any body that may have a jeep and I'm sure there are alot of good experiences out there with the jeep name and community, but i have not and sorry to say i never expected an experience like this.

i am sorry to hear about your dilema.. i had the same problem with my 08 rubi. at first ,the cap on the pass. side fell off. i called the dealership where i bought it from.which is 300 km away to prince george,b.c. they told me over the phone that they would fix the problem. by the time i got there two caps on the drivers side fell off. there was lots of damage. but they replaced everything! on both sides ,they replaced inner and outer axles. u-joints, knuckles,,seals and fluids! i didnt have the scrapes on my skid plates but that shoudnt matter.point is,these jeeps where made to travel the rubicon trail.. right out of the box!!!

Re: ????jeep chrysler canada warranty claim denied???
I think that the Chrysler warranty sucks big time and yet others have told me it all depends on the particular dealership. Well, I'd like to know why, if they don't all have a common, standard "mode de employ", then why would some dealerships be less than stellar in their PR department and customer relationship? After all, they all are Chrysler representatives or aren't they?
What would Chrysler say if they knew that some of their dealerships were actually traitors at heart with little or no concern for the "Chrysler" name? Or does Chrysler even give a hoot?
My '08 JK, with 20K on it and babied by me since off the sales lot has deveoped a leak, which is bound to get worse. They basically told me to "bugger off" and not bother them with trivialities, besides it still had plenty of warranty time.
What a big bag of horse pucks! I would never hire those idiots to work for me - ever.

Re: ????jeep chrysler canada warranty claim denied???
it seems to me (I may be wrong - Im new) that you only used your jeep the way it was intended to be used...the way they SHOW IT USED IN COMMERCIALS!!! Make them honor the warranty
heres a story:
Ive never been through anything like that but a friend of mine has a G35 and while covered by warranty his clutch went. he went to the dealer and they asked him what he was doing - he told them straight up he was driving like an idiot and doing 200+. of course they denied the warranty claim. he got pissed and went back to the dealer. with the service dept full of customers he starts yelling how he only used the car as the car maker claims it should be used. he brought in the advertising on tv and how the cars are driven in the commercials, the whole 9 yards. they replaced his clutch, flywheel, the works - all free of charge. the bill was something crazy like $4K+.
My advice is kepp pushing, you used your jeep the way it is advertised!!! Record a commercial of the jeep driving in rough terrain and ask if that kind of driving would cause the scratches which resulted in them denying your claim!
