Extended Warranty / Rust Protection

Extended Warranty / Rust Protection
Hi everyone! Brand new, looking forward to sharing information here. We just signed for our 2013 Sahara Unlimited today and we pick it up this week. Really looking forward to it! In the meantime, we are looking at our information about extended warranties and rust protection.
What is the general feeling about extended warranties from the dealer for the Jeep? My husband read about Ensurall, which offers extended warranties in Canada and is supposed to be cheaper than the dealer. Any thoughts?
Also, they are promoting Sym-tech electronic rust protection. Any experience with this?
Thanks for any advice!

I only know what happened to our vehicle many years ago and the fight I had.on rust protection warranty's I suggest you read the FINE print before you sign with whoever you get the warranty from.. little things like interior and exterior rust or you modified your vehicle so were not going to cover the warranty. Good Luck

Re: Extended Warranty / Rust Protection
I have been doing a lot of reading on this online, and the consensus seems to be to get a good non-dealer rust treatment. I have read about Corrosion Free Formula 3000, but I have not found a location in the Montreal area.

I didn't buy the extender warranty for 2 reasons, the undercoating is garbage it dosn't work. Even though it's life time protection, it's not going to work. Most new vehicles these days have the metal chassis ionized and coated before being painted to protect against rusting. Plus some after market ones are good, but be carful because some can get under the paint and it makes ugly black marks near the bottoms of the doors (Im sure you've seen them around)
Second reason I didn't get the extended warranty is because I plan to modify my vehicle, and playing for an extended warranty on things I plan to replace with aftermarket parts or in general modify is just a big waste of my money. But they did say within the first 3 years i can always extend the warranty, so I keep my options open.
Just my two cents, and things to consider.

I am in the same boat as you, I have not received my Jeep yet, it will probably be Friday. Cannot wait, very stoked about receiving it.
After doing more reading, we concluded that we would not take the dealer protection packages or the extended warranties. We will probably get Corrosion Free Formula 3000 treatment on it after we buy it (although we have to drive to Cornwall for that, not available here). We have heard a lot of good things about it.

Don't forget to put up some pictures once you get your new jeep, we all love to look at a nice shiny new jeep.

Montreal,
At the very end of the day, the choice is yours, it's your Jeep and your money.
I do want to explain that the Chrysler Service Contract and Mastershield coverages are very competitive in quality and costs.
That being said, the dealers do set their own pricing and do their own application or sublet the application. The application process is hard for Chrysler to monitor as we can't be present at every application which is why we entrust the dealers to do right by their customer's and us.
When you have 3rd party products applied to your vehicle, it can affect your warranty coverage with Chrysler - same as modifying your vehicle.
Example, if you have a rust issue and the dealer finds that you have had the vehicle treated, there will be no coverage. It will be left up to you to work it out with who applied the product, creating a lot of unwanted back and forth.
With Mastershield, you will not have any issues with your warranty, provided it is a defect, and if any repairs are completed, which ever coverage is applied to that part of the vehicle will be reapplied at no charge – no headaches.
Another example, you find corrosion on your right rear door - no sign of impact, no scratches, nothing - once approved, the repair is completed and your Mastershield products are reapplied to the door after the repair.
The same goes for Service Contracts.
With a Chrysler service contract you have your coverage with us and there is no back and forth with a 3rd party attempting to get your Jeep repaired.
Again, the choice is yours but to make your life easier, we offer almost anything that you are wanting in added coverage to protect your investment.
If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me.

Re: Extended Warranty / Rust Protection
We picked up our car today. Honestly, there was such a hard sell on the extended warranty that it started to scare us about our vehicle. It certainly did nothing to sell the vehicle, it felt like scare tactics. We keep our vehicles until they are finished - Mazda, Acura and Subaru - and none of them had the kind of hard sell on extended warranty and protection products that I am experiencing right now with the Jeep. Anyone else go through this?

I put almost 1800$ into a warranty I never used for my civic.
