Canada Chrysler wrranty and mods

Has anyone had trouble with their warranty after doing mods. Im thinking of a 2.5 lift, bumper and 33"s

Ive heard some horror stories of the stealership voiding the warranty after the buyer gave a negative customer evaluation. Check out this thread, Its American so I dont know if its different in Canada.

I was thinking of getting all warranty work done at my local garage. I know the owner and he wouldn't rat me out.

Also having trouble finding an insurer that will acept mods.

Ontario sucks!

From my experience, it's like any other car manufacturer/dealer....it's hit and miss.

All depends on the dealership.

I have had no problems with dealerships, insurance companies or police with my mods.

What insurance company are you with? Also have you ever had an accident with the mods on (knock on wood that it doesn't happen)? Insurance companies can deny a claim if a vehicle has been modified from it's factory specs.

Its through Farmers. I have not had an accident with the mods on yet. I told my agent about the lift and he told me it wasn't an issue. Have also heard people with Chieftan are not having problems either.

My wife works for a Chrysler Dealership and the boys told her down there if I wanted a lift the most I could go without voiding any warranties on my suspension and stuff was a 2 in body lift, Man Im really new to the Jeep world so I don't even know if that would be worth it, I have 32's right now and eventually want to go up to 35's.

Don't know what the law is here but in the US there's a specific law on the consumer's side about that. Can't find it at the moment and if I recall correctly whatever mod has to be proven to have broken something directly where that part of the warranty wouldn't be allowed. Specifically a mod cannot void the entire warranty, rather a mod breaking something directly voids that portion of the warranty while the rest of the warranty coverage elsewhere is valid.

I'd look at it that anything Mopar (Jee/Chrysler) offers is good, and they do offer their own after market lifts and bolt ons etc, so whether it's their brand or not, what's the difference. But say something like a Super Charger bolted on and your engine blows obviously not. Never really understood what the difference would be to a dealer, don't they bill or get paid by Chrysler for warranty work anyway?

Dealers are not getting paid the markup on parts and getting a flat rate for the repair not the shop rate.
I've heard of people taking their vehicle into the dealer for a safety check because it's about to come off warranty and they say nothing is wrong with anything. 5 or 10k down the road something breaks and it's obvious it was ready to go when they checked it but now the customer gets to foot the bill for it. I just seen a guy at a local repair shop paying them 100 bucks to give it the once over for things BEFORE he brought it to the dealer for the same service so he would know if they were BS'n him.
I don't trust dealerships as far as I can drag them.
