Default CAI's and cat backs

I'm looking to add an CAI and cat back to my 2010 Unlimited Rubicon. First, how much hp and torque gain can I expect, and secondly, which are the best CAI and cat backs out there. I've been doing a little bit of reading and its seem to me to be Airhammer CAI and Borla cat backs.
I would appriciate some feed back on this, as I really don't know much about it.
Also, can the dealership void my warrenty if I go with anything besides Mopar?

I don't think I'd worry about voiding your warranty. If something happens, just take off the CAI and put the stock airbox back in.

However I have to ask. Why install CAI? I've yet to see big gains from installing a new air filter (essentially what it is). Unless you're bringing new and "cold" air from outside the engine bay, a CAI under the hood won't help.

Take the money you'd spend on a CAI and catback and chip the ECU. You'll end up getting better performance and probably better gas mileage too.

This "chip" here plugs in to the factory harness and knowing dealerships, if you removed it before taking the Jeep in to be services, they wouldn't know it was there in the first place.

From my previous experience from modding cars, the CAI brings in cooler air because of the location of the intake tube/filter. It is usually found away from the car's engine bay (keep in mind I am referring to compact/subcompact imports - I am assuming it would be the same on the JK). My last few cars the CAI was found at the bottom of the engine bay, therefore, the air is cooler than where the stock airbox is. If you were to get a SRI, then there would be no point as it's mounted in the same location as the stock air box but will make the engine sound like it's on steriods.

If the location of the CAI is in the same place as the other cars that I have had and you are planning on taking your Jeep off road, I wouldn't install one. Why?
1) Risk of hydro locking (unless you get a bypass - but still at risk)
2) More dirt can and will get into your internals, therefore, more cleaning time of your throttle body and MAF.

As for warranty, you can go to 100 dealers and they will all say it won't void anything. But when it come time for warranty work, it can go both ways. Speaking from experience from my other cars.

Gains from just a CAI and catback will be minimal.


**edit** I just realized there's only one type of intake system for the JK which resembles a SRI.....therefore, the intake system from AEM and K&N are sitting in the engine bay, sucking in warm air....very minimal gain if any.

I've got a 2010 JK 2dr, I recently installed K&N CAI, MBRP Exhaust and Superchips flashpaq. I think I've gained a couple of MPG's, the difference in torque and hp is in my opinion is unbelievable. I can jump on the highway and without even pushing it, I'm at 140KM/H, it is hard to drive slow now. With the Superchip programmed to 87 Performance, I cruise on the highway at 110KM/H at 1700 RPM's.

Thats what i wanted to hear. Do you do much offroading? Just wondering how the K&N is like fording deep water. And about how much do the chip cost? Thanx for the reply.

If anything is giving you those gains it's the chip and exhaust. I'd take the CAI out and see how it performs. I've never seen a chip burnt to require a CAI.

Just don't forget to consider the 2dr's stability and especially under slippery or high wind conditions when you're clapping along at higher speeds. The flip and roll can't be fun imo.
