Default 2011 Spy Shot and Rear Axel Question

All,

Heres a link to Alpar with two spy shots
http://www.allpar.com/SUVs/jeep/wrangler-2011.html
(not sure I personally like the color match hard top)

Looks like the Rubi is the only one to get the D44 in the rear...others will get the 'corporate 8.25' !!??

Is this a down grade, is the 8.25 as good better, or ?? What the?

Nothing wrong with the 8.25, been a staple axle for a long time. Good aftermarket parts/ upgrades too. The 8.25 is more common in "narrower" vehicles but will fit into something the size of a GC.

I've been in auto parts for over 20 years and a licenced mechanic before that. We sell ALOT of diff kits for the corporate 8.25", but very few for the Dana 44. Usually just rear axle seals for those. Looks like a money saving reason to me.

i like the new interior grey on black i see they added armrests and a storage on top of the dash, not too fond of the beige interior or the color matched hardtop.....i like my black hardtop contrasted against the yellow.

I agree with you, the new interior is very nice, refined yes, not as square(which doesn't match the rest of the vehical?!?!?)
Not a big fan of the crome on the steering wheel.Like O4WJGUY signature says....."chrome don't get ya home", no to Bling....I love that saying, its so true.
Ya, the Black hardtop is a great contrast IMO, on the Detonator Yellow....a color match hardtop would make it look like a Hummer. YEIKS!! Not gonna' do it!

i agree that was the only things i didnt like about it was the chrome and rounded corners, i like my squared off dash, it just looks tougher and chrome makes me throw up in my mouth, ima blacked out kinda guy.

We stopped by a dealership today and took a look at a black 2011 sahara. I wasn't real fond of the colour combination of the dash... black on top and tan below. I'm sure other colour combinations may look better, but,in my opinion, that was just plain ugly. The rear window was noticably larger, and I liked the cool grafics on the front windshield, top centre and right lower locations...take a look sometime. In my opinion, the steering wheel just doesn't look right in a wrangler either. All in all I'm happy with my 10. I would have been green with envy if they would have changed the engine.
