2011 jk 4dr soft top question
Ok went to the dealer last Tuesday got them to show me how to put on soft top
But some questions
question 1 when you fold back the top above the front seats (4 door) do you use the Velcro strap around the the fold or do you just fold back the top and forget about it ?(sun rider)
Question 2 when you fold back the top completely where does the Velcro straps go the picture shows a slot in the frame of the jeep but I don't have one does anyone have a picture what it is supposed to look like
Would of been nice if he showed me how if folded up rather than telling me it just back and tucks out of the way. I had to go back a day later to get the straps he forget to give me. This sucks you spend all this money and this is the service you get
Thanks

Re: 2011 jk 4dr soft top question
I have a 2 door but have a lot of friends with 4 doors and I have helped with soft tops a few times. As far as I remember you HAVE to use the velcro straps on both sides when you are using the sunrider portion (just folded back off the front passengers but still up) not a clue about them when its all the way down. I assume you wouldnt need them? I dont use them on mine when its all the way down?

Re: 2011 jk 4dr soft top question
when you fold down the top to the sun rider I position my strap where all three bows meet or on top of each other. I strap it through the bottom two. I will try to get a picture for you.
When the top is completly down I use my straps and there is a small slot, not as wide as the straps which is odd but that is what I run my straps though and around the bow. Im not sure you really need it but I put them on just to be safe.

Re: 2011 jk 4dr soft top question
I have the same JK and the hole is round that the straps go in, the 11's musts be slightly different than previous years. As well if you are running with just the sunrider open it is highly recommended that you remove the back window as I have heard stories of the top getting moved out of shape.

Re: 2011 jk 4dr soft top question
here's a newbie question on the soft tops...can you go thru a touchless car wash with it on? Or is that too much pressure? I know hand washing is best, but sometimes, the car wash beside my work is just so damn convenient when the Jeep gets dusty...
Tks.
